Coen Brothers Prints by Chet Phillips

Big Lebowski Chet Phillips

The Coen Brothers are responsible for some of the most seminal films of the last twenty years and whilst they didn’t have their auteur hand on the likes of the Adam Sandler vehicles of Jack and Jill and Billy Madison, they did give us the rather awesome Big Lebowski, Fargo, No Country for Old Men and Raising Arizona so I think I can find it within myself to forgive them for missing the boat on the aforementioned Sandler classics. It’s not just me that has been impressed with the Coen Brother’s film making endeavours as these rather brilliant Coen Brother Prints from Chet Phillips admirably illustrate (literally). I have a distinct affinity for “The Dude” in the Big Lebowski and his laid back attitude to life is a bit of a mantra for me so I really appreciated some of the awesome quotes that found their way onto these top notch prints – most notably “Careful, man, there’s a beverage here…”. Never a truer word, The Dude, never a truer word.

Raising Arizona Chet Phillips

“Give me that baby, you warthog from hell” – I find it hard to believe that many better lines have been committed to celluloid than that.
