For Manhattanophiles (it’s a word) with a desire to make their flat a homage to Friends circa 1999, this awesome looking Urban Shelf will be just the ticket. What it lacks in the practicality sense, it more than makes up for in the ‘look at me, I’m clearly awesome‘ department and that’s what is important. What would you rather – a shelf that can hold more than a thin print of a painting or your friends to go “ooooh – nice shelf” when they come round. Don’t answer, I already know. Crafted from epoxy-coated steel and capable of holding things like plants, books and stationary (despite my earlier ‘thin print’ jibe) this will look great in urban loft style apartments (ideally in New York but Wigan, Bolton and that will be fine too). Costing around £60, it’s actually remarkably good value – considering I paid a similar amount for a shelf from IKEA which I’m more than mildly suspicious was crafted from Bonsal wood which fretted if anything heavier than a pencil was placed even within its vicinity.
So, if you’ve been pining for a place to put some post, pencils, elastic band balls and digitally altered images of designer furniture in your home, this is the perfect choice.
